My Favorite Books to Inspire Growth This Season

Image
When I was a kid, reading was not my thing. I struggled with it for years, in fact, I was pulled out of class for extra help for years. I dreaded reading and avoided it whenever I could. I couldn’t understand why anyone would choose to read if they didn’t have to. Fast forward to adulthood, something shifted. About a decade ago, I picked up my first leadership book, and that’s when everything changed. Since then, I’ve become what I once thought I’d never be: a reader. I don’t read fiction, but I love non-fiction, books about personal growth, leadership, personal finance, longevity, health, and of course “woo-woo” books. I’m not a fast reader, but I’m consistent. I read about ten pages a day, which adds up to around 15–20 books a year. Mark Twain once said, “The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.” That quote hits home for me because now I see reading as one of the most powerful ways to grow, learn, and evolve. With the holidays approaching...

Finding Balance Before the Holidays

Image
How to build healthy habits now that carry you through the busy season I’m just coming out of what felt like the longest, and fullest, month ever. Between my boys’ soccer schedules, we had 28 games in a 30-day month! September was a blur of late dinners, car snacks, and juggling work, sports, and everyday life. Now that things are starting to settle (just a little), I can finally breathe again… but I know what’s coming next, my favorite time of year, but again a very busy time of year, the holiday season. That’s why I wanted to write this week’s newsletter about finding balance before things get crazy again. It’s so easy to let our healthy routines slip when life feels nonstop. But the truth is, this in-between time, the space between seasons, is the perfect opportunity to reset, rebuild habits, and create some calm before the holiday storm. When we focus on small, sustainable actions now, we don’t have to start from scratch in January, we’ll already be grounded, strong, an...

Your birthday isn’t just another day — it’s your reminder to live

Image
This week was a birthday week, my oldest son turned 15, and just two days later, it was my mom’s birthday. I wasn’t with her to celebrate, but she was definitely on my mind. And between those two birthdays, I found myself thinking a lot about how people view their birthday. Some people love birthdays and go all out. Others quietly let the day pass, saying, “It’s just another day,” or “I don’t want to be a year older.” Some look to the next year, hoping it’ll be better than the last. But here’s what I’ve come to believe: every birthday is a privilege, not a promise. Every day, 150,000 people don’t wake up. Life is unpredictable and heartbreakingly short. We spend so much time rushing, worrying, and waiting for the “right” moment but the truth is, this is it. Right now. This is your life. That’s why I believe birthdays matter. Not because of gifts or parties, but because they remind us that we’re still here. We’re still breathing, learning, loving, and growing. Your birthda...

Finish 2025 Strong: Your 90-Day Goal Plan

Image
Can you believe there are less than 90 days left in 2025 ?  This is the time of year when many people say, “I’ll just wait until January to start my goals.” But what if instead, you walked into 2026 already stronger, healthier, and more focused ? Imagine closing out this year proud of what you’ve already accomplished, not waiting to begin.   Why the Last 90 Days Matter A lot can change between now and the new year. Here are just a few examples: Health: Losing 1 pound per week = 9–10 pounds lighter by New Year’s Eve . Finances: Saving $5/day (skipping the daily coffee) = $450 saved by January. Relationships: One coffee date or phone call each week = 13 meaningful connections before the year ends. Growth: Reading 10 pages a day = finishing 4 books (or more). See how much progress is possible before the calendar even flips?   Step 1: Choose ONE Area of Focus Instead of trying to “do it all,” pick one area for th...
